Holiday Lights of Hope began as a little idea from several board members for the Anna Crawford Children's Center. As a fundraising board, the members were looking for an event to support the center in a family friendly way. It first opened in 2012 on a small scale with just two fields at Hobgood Park. Now, Holiday Lights of Hope has grown to include all four fields at the park as well as additional areas.
As much as we want visitors to join us at Holiday Lights of Hope, we understand it is not always possible. So with that in mind, board members put their heads together and came up with a way every one in Cherokee County can participate called Holiday Lights at Home! That is right, we are having a light show contest and we can not wait to see your Holiday Lights!
All proceeds from this contest benefit Anna Crawford Children’s Center, a non-profit that provides intervention and treatment services to children and families impacted by child sexual, physical and emotional abuse. The Anna Crawford Children’s Center assists over 500 families each year and offers an ever-expanding array of preventative services aimed at the eradication of child abuse. The center also provides statewide education for those who are responsible for the evaluation and treatment of child abuse investigations.
So please, come join us with a little friendly competition and share your wonderful Holiday Lights with everyone in our community!
